GEORGE LINDSEY'S STEAKHOUSE & DOG N SUDS AD FROM 1971
For a #THROWBACKTHURSDAY. An ad for George Lindsey's Steakhouse and Dog N Suds in the Springfield Daily News. Oddly enough, the George Lindsey's Steakhouse is still in business in Springfield, MO, only it is just called George's Restaurant now.
Hell yes! I was born in 62 and my parents took me to George Lindsay's steakhouse on park Ave at my Moriah. I'll never 4 get it as each table/booth had a telephone 2 use in order to order. As a precocious 8 yr old I grabbed the phone and totally freaked when someone answered. After changing my underwear, I recall the steak, etc. was awesome. I miss the place. Cheers, Guy Hall
I worked at George Lindsays Steak House in Granite City, Il. in 1976-1977; I was 16 years old when I started and turned 17 while working there. I had a date with one of the waitresses the night of my 17th birthday; she was in her early 20's; unfortunately that night I disclosed my age and the date went south from there; she thought I was older. I would walk from Granite City South High to go to work there; I was in a Co-Op program where work counted toward my schoolin. I worked there until a month before my 18th birthday because I got married in Feb. of 78 and was in the Army by early March with a child on the way; my b-day is in April; no I didn't marry the waitress.
Curtis, there were 2 george lyndseys steak houses in memphis. my father was Mr Lindsays corperate pilot for years when I was younger, he also owned a group of swiss style chalets in Branson, befor it became what it is today.

Used to drive by George Lindsey’s steakhouse in Granite City all the time on the way to the ice rink. Always wanted to go there.
There was a George Lindsey's in Independence, MO. On US 24, near the Truman library.
I worked there and met the love of my life.
